 About the Competition

The aim of the competition is to foster a spirit of enterprise by encouraging students/graduates who may have an idea for a business but have not yet had the time to develop it, or has an early stage business that they want to get off the ground! You do not have to be seriously thinking of taking the idea forward commercially, but instead look at this as an opportunity to consider your idea in a bit more detail and gain valuable early feedback. Although should you want to take your idea forward then we will help you to do that.

We are looking for innovative and unique business ideas that have real potential - a great opportunity for you to explore your creative side, develop your ideas and think outside of the box!

£10,000 Cash pot up for grabs!!

The key points to remember here are:

- It’s all about the idea.

- There is no requirement to actually start a business.

- You can enter on your own or as part of a group.

- Applicants complete a short application form outlining their business idea.

- You must submit a 3-minute, pre-recorded video pitch.

For those of you who are currently developing a business that is more than just

an idea,  you can apply for our new UWS Business fund which will help to support you through that

process with grants of up to £5,000 to get you started. Please make sure to check the dates as funding

may only be available at certain times (batches) throughout the year.

Find out more information, eligibility and apply on our funding page.
