Start-up Visa Scheme
We are looking for individuals who are innovative, ambitious, and ready to kick start their new business venture! The Start-up scheme is for early-stage but high potential entrepreneurs who are starting a business in the UK for the first time and who have a business plan endorsed by a Home Office approved endorsing body. Individuals who are interested must provide an innovative, viable and scalable business plan.
Before you apply for the Start-up Visa, you must check your eligibility and follow the instructions provided on the UWS website. Please click the button below and download the PDF file available on the website which contains further information regarding this scheme.
*Important* - UWS can endorse students for the Start-Up visa until 13 April 2023. After this date, the Start up visa will be merging into the Innovator visa. Details of this route can be found on the UKCISA website.
For further information see the UWS Start Up Visa Guide online.

Who Can Apply?
You do not need to be endorsed by the university or college where you studied. However, in order to establish your business with the support of the University’s Enterprise Services Team, UWS will only consider supporting UWS recent graduates (who have graduated within a 12-month period) or applicants who can demonstrate a strong connection to UWS. Applicants must not have previously established a business in the UK. If more than one student is applying with a joint business plan, each student needs to demonstrate how they will be integral to the business plan and how they will have a shared role in the direction of the business.
